Job Summary

Position Purpose

The Multimedia Sales Representative sells advertising space for publication in print, vast array of digital products, as well as Print and Deliver Products for ECM Publishers, Inc. products by providing superior quality customer service to businesses and individuals.

Authority and Relationships

Works with a wide variety of internal associates including inside sales representatives, customer service representatives, graphic design associates, and, external customers requiring a high level of integrity and tact as a representative of ECM Publishers, Inc.

Responsibilities and Duties

Essential Responsibilities

  • Assists customers in building their business, utilizing product knowledge and research to determine advertising goals and budget limitations. Builds and nurtures productive business relationships.
  • Emphasizes saleable features offered by ECM Publishers, Inc., quotes prices and credit terms, and prepares sales orders for orders obtained.
  • Support Advertising Manager in outlining and executing new policies or sales promotion campaigns.
  • Notifies current and potential advertisers of opportunities of interest, such as a related topical article or issue of a publication.
  • Generates new business prospects and revenue streams from leads in other publications or Web sites and from old accounts. Obtains pertinent information concerning prospects’ past and current advertising for use in sales presentations. Contacts and visits prospects to point out advantages of ECM publications or web sites, an exhibits prepared samples.
  • Prepares or coordinates with production the preparation of sample ad layouts and copy for print or banner ads, and presents to customer for approval. Serves as liaison between customer and production team; resolves discrepancies to ensure client satisfaction.

Qualifications and Skills


Education & Experience

  • High School Diploma, with some advanced education preferred.
  • Two years previous sales experience preferred. Online/Web site sales experience beneficial. Graphic design/layout experience helpful.

Skills & Abilities

  • High level of organizational and communication skills required.
  • Ability to provide the highest level of customer service in a fast paced environment

Work Requirements

  • Must meet ECM Publishers, Inc. driver qualifications and drug screening. Ability to safely operate a motor vehicle and complete daily visits to customer locations. Ability to walk, stand, enter and exit vehicle frequently.


The fringe benefits include Medical (split between employer and employee), Dental and Vision options (employee paid). There are three (3) company-sponsored benefits to include Short Term Disability, Long Term Disability, and a Term Life Insurance Policy. The company offers pay for these six (6) major holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s, Memorial Day, Independence Day, and Labor Day). In addition, you accrue 3.33 hour per pay period in the first year of employment (80 hours) and increasing to 5.0 hours per pay period (120 hours) after one year of anniversary of employment with a 40 hour PTO amount front loaded. The company has the option of making a discretionary match to the 401K Retirement Plan after year’s end.
