Position description
This position is responsible for development and implementation of video and multimedia components for use on the Web and other digital channels. The Producer/Director is responsible for all video produced for MCIS Web sites. These videos are generally high-impact, high-visibility initiatives that reach Mayo's most important audiences: patients, staff, referring physicians, and clients. The Producer/Director is responsible for all aspects of these programs, from concept through production and final dissemination. This position demands creativity, self-motivation, and a high degree of production skill, coupled with the ability to manage large projects. The ability to edit video and audio, and to create new content are vital to this position. Strong planning, organizing, project management skills are required. The Producer/Director works with a variety of people and projects simultaneously. Responsibilities include:

* Pre-production scheduling and planning

* Producing and interviewing

* Tape logging and transcription

* Scripting

* In-edit suite producing

* Process development and management

Education: Bachelor's Degree (BA) in Mass Communication, Film & Video Production or a related field with three to five years experience in video production. Experience producing video for use on the Web highly desirable. The Producer/Director produces and directs live and taped studio and field video productions. Finished products are utilized on Mayo Clinic Web sites and may include broadcast, videoconference, streaming video, or presentations. Candidates with advanced degrees preferred.
Additional qualifications
The incumbent must be highly organized and able to effectively manage several video projects simultaneously at various stages of production. Must have excellent communications skills in order to deal with senior Mayo Clinic personnel and numerous non-Mayo professionals whom they will encounter. Must be familiar with video and audio production equipment, and proficient in the use of video cameras, broadcast videotape recorders, and audio mixing consoles, program switchers, LAN controllers, and graphic generators, linear and non-linear equipment. Incumbent works independently much of the time, and therefore must have excellent problem solving skills. Most importantly, incumbent must be able to translate ideas of medical professionals into finished, presentable, videotape programs. Must understand and be proficient in the complete process of program development from concept through distribution and billing.

Education, experience and tenure may be considered along with internal equity when job offers are extended.  The minimum salary every 2 weeks is approx $2696.80, based on a full-time position.
