Position Summary

Marketing Messages is looking for a bright, detail-oriented self-starter to join our team on a full-time basis in our Waltham, MA office.

The Audio Production Assistant reports directly to the Production Director. This person will be responsible for recording and editing audio recordings originated by professional voice talents in over 75 languages for telephone and web applications - such as interactive voice response (IVR), auto attendant, on hold music and messaging, and web video narration. This person will also coordinate all activities within the order fulfillment process and perform other operational activities as required by the Production Department. In addition, this person will be a key player in helping to operationalize new products and technologies.

This position in intended to evolve into a more senior/expansive role over time. Ideal candidates should have the long-term desire to record and edit speech-based audio, but also be open to learning new multi-media skills as well.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Direct and record our voice talents in both remote and in-studio environments
  • Ensure that client scripts are accurately recorded
  • Digitally edit voice audio in multiple languages
  • Listen to and proof audio meticulously for errors
  • Integrate/mix music with voice recordings
  • Integrate video with voice recordings in the future
  • Ensure that files are named and formatted accurately
  • Coordinate the resolution of recording and translation errors
  • Distribute audio to customers and maintain audio file archive
  • Evaluate new songs for inclusion in music archive
  • Assist in the identification, evaluation, and onboarding of voice talent candidates
  • Update and maintain Marketing Messages website: audio samples, music, and other elements
  • Provide customer support

Qualifications and Skills

Required Qualifications

  • Have superlative critical listening skills
  • Demonstrated proficiency in audio editing (we use Adobe Audition and Sony Sound Forge)
  • Know Microsoft Outlook, Word and Excel
  • Experience with CRM systems (for ex. Salesforce) a plus
  • Strong detail orientation – with strong analytical and organizational skills
  • Communicate clearly, both verbally and electronically
  • Have good common sense and a knack for troubleshooting
  • Enthusiastic about embracing new technologies and processes
  • Be self-motivated, energetic, and curious
  • Work both independently and in a small, entrepreneurial team environment
  • Share our deep commitment to provide excellent customer service

Required Education and Experience

  • Minimum 2 years college
  • Minimum 4 years experience in audio production
  • Experience in video editing/production a plus
