As a team member of Columbia Video Network, the Video Producer is responsible for the planning, production, editing and publishing of video and multimedia assets for CVN. S/he develops and maintains a cohesive creative direction and quality standards for CVN assets. In addition, this role oversees related equipment, inventory, and vendor accounts that support video production. 

While producing video content for public platforms, online courses, flipped courses, marketing and events, the video producer collaborates with faculty, video editors, instructional designers, instructional technology specialists, production team and other stakeholders. The Video Producer helps manage and supervise events as needed. 

The Video Producer assists with additional video work and responsibilities as needed, and lends expertise in video production where needed or necessary.  

Bachelor's degree and/or its equivalent required. Minimum 3-5 years related experience with video production in an academic or education setting or minimum 3-5 years' related experience working for an agency, consumer brand, film production or media company. 

Degree in Film Production or equivalent experience in filming professional level videos. Expert video editing ability in instructional, promotional, event, and corporate styles. Expertise in lighting for film and audio production. Expert technical knowledge of various video cameras, lighting rigs, audio production, green screens, etc. Expert camera work / grip and video editing skills, Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro or similar editing software. Ability to work quickly and flexibly in a deadline driven environment. Willingness to test and fail quickly. Adobe Photoshop and Adobe After Effects experience, as well as experience with 2-D animation and design programs is a plus. 

Working knowledge of Windows XP/7/8, OSX, and all MS Office Applications. Working knowledge of Adobe After Effects or equivalent NLE such as Avid Media Composer or similar. Working knowledge of live streaming and various audio setups. Knowledgeable about social media and video trends. 

Strong interpersonal skills, written and verbal. Requires skill and good judgment in teaming and communicating with University faculty and staff, representatives from external organizations, and vendors. Excellent organizational skills, and ability to prioritize work assignments with sustained heavy workload. Self-directed worker and creative problem solver. A high level of self-motivation, adaptability and integrity. Some supervisory or leadership experience.

Support the production and development of video and media assets for CVN (70%) 

● Create video and multimedia content from planning to execution. 
● Generate original video, animation and images where required that support instructional aims and enhance teaching and learning 
● Create unique animation and graphics for videos, including illustrating key concepts of courses 
● Help determine layouts and formatting for effectively communicating complex ideas and encouraging interactivity 
● Ensure a visually engaging user experience 
● Maintain studios and equipment 
● Work collaboratively with the staff and student workers 
● Assist with lecture capture and classroom recordings as needed. 

Work with stakeholders to plan video and multimedia production for online courses, events and marketing (20%) 

● Define and execute standards for the creation of successful media assets as they relate to media and animated content 
● Assist with the design for CVN's internal and external communications, including: team website, faculty and student support and training documentation.
