Audio Digitization Engineer

Reports to Director of Operations - Applicants new to the trade will work with senior staff and D.O. for training and supervision; experienced applicants will be expected to work independently after training on our systems.


The Audio Digitization Engineer is responsible for audio preparation and digitization while handling various legacy audio formats. You will join our growing team of experienced engineers and staff in a fast-paced and exciting work environment.

Responsibilities and Duties


  • Prepare audio media for digitization * Align playback and record parameters
  • Digitize media * Gather and log technical and process metadata
  • Pass completed ingested files to Finishing department- mostly audio cassettes and 1/4” reel-to-reel - early born digital formats - analog discs - exotic formats (we support 110+ legacy audiovisual formats)

Qualifications and Skills

Education and skills:

  • Associate’s degree desired * BA/BS in Audio engineering, BM in Music Technology, or BA in Media or equivalent preferred, but not required
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to interface with production staff and leadership with confidence and clarity
  • Effective organizational skills
  • Computer skills with word-processing, spreadsheet, and e-mail programs
  • Time- and stress-management skills
  • High energy, results-driven person with strong interpersonal skills
  • Ability to learn quickly, to handle multiple tasks and responsibilities, and to accept independence
  • Experience using Mac hardware preferred

Additional qualifications preferred, but not required:

  • Knowledge of legacy audio and video formats
  • Must be capable of lifting 50lbs unaided and sit for up to 8 hours per day
